Qiskit Fall Fest 2026
One week, five days of quantum: three invited talks and two hands-on workshop days, woven together to celebrate ten years of quantum computing on the cloud.
About
Qiskit Fall Fest is IBM Quantum's annual series of student-run quantum computing events, hosted every autumn on campuses around the world. In 2026 the Clemson Quantum Club brings the Fall Fest back to Clemson, and this year's edition is a milestone: the global theme celebrates ten years since the first quantum computer went on the cloud, and a decade of open tools that let anyone, anywhere program real quantum hardware.
Our Fall Fest runs a full week, alternating between talks and hands-on sessions: three invited speakers from research and industry, interleaved with two workshop days of guided Qiskit notebooks and challenge problems. Every session starts from zero: no quantum background is required for any of it.
Key Details
Week at a Glance
Every day stands on its own, so come for one session or all five. Open a day to see what is planned; after each session, the talk details, links, and any files you need will be posted there.
Opening talk: speaker TBA
The week opens with an invited talk kicking off ten years of quantum on the cloud. The talk title, speaker, and a recap of what was discussed will be posted here after the session.
Guided Qiskit notebook: your first circuits
Hands-on session: install Qiskit, build your first circuits, and run them on real IBM Quantum hardware with a step-by-step notebook. Organizers are on hand the whole way. Bring a laptop; the notebook and setup guide will be linked here before the session.
Speaker session: TBA
An invited speaker from research or industry. The talk title, speaker bio, and a summary of the discussion will be posted here, along with a link to the recording or slides.
Challenge workshop: puzzles to hardware
A ladder of Qiskit challenges, from first-circuit puzzles up to open-ended problems worth bragging about. The challenge set, instructions, and any files you need will be attached here.
Closing talk: speaker TBA
We close the week with a final invited talk and a wrap-up of what everyone built. Details, links, and the session recap will be posted here afterward.
FAQ
Do I need quantum computing or Qiskit experience?
No. The speaker sessions assume no background, and the workshops start from your very first circuit. Curiosity is the only prerequisite.
Do I have to attend the whole week?
No. Every day stands on its own, so come for one talk, one workshop, or all five days.
What should I bring?
A laptop for the workshop days. We will help you set up Qiskit and an IBM Quantum account during the first session.
